Who is Seaqual Initiative?
SEAQUAL INITIATIVE is a community with a single voice against plastic pollution. They bring together individuals, organizations and companies, to help clean our oceans, raise awareness of the issue of marine plastic and highlight the heroes who are working to solve it.
Seaqual Initiative voices an emotion and a commitment to fight plastic pollution and help local communitities move towards a circular economy. They collaborate with NGOs, Fishermen, Researchers, Scientists, Authorities, Brands and Manufacturers to clean our oceans of marine litter.
Why does SAPPHIRE collaborate with SEAQUAL INITIATIVE?
At SAPPHIRE one of the most important tasks is to avoid manufacturing practises that produce more plastic, instead seeking out recycled materials to design products from. Sapphire extends partnership with SEAQUAL – the innovative project that transforms marine litter into high quality recycled products. In 2022, Sapphire launched a new range of reusable and recyclable carrier bags made from end-of-life fishing nets and ropes. This year SAPPHIRE focuses on products made from recycled materials. One of a growing number of regenerated fibres used in the SAPPHIRE range SEAQUAL is a further building block in terms of reducing the company’s reliance on fossil fuels.
